Join a government facility on the Bellarine Peninsula as an ICT Server Engineer, supporting a large and secure enterprise technology environment. Working alongside a team of experienced infrastructure professionals, you'll help maintain critical ICT systems while contributing to projects that improve the performance, security and reliability of a large enterprise environment. You'll also have the opportunity to work with modern infrastructure technologies that support the ongoing evolution of this secure ICT environment.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you'll work across infrastructure support, systems administration and project delivery while helping deliver reliable, secure and high-performing ICT services.

This role offers a market-competitive salary, 15.4% superannuation, generous leave entitlements and paid leave over the Christmas and New Year period.

Key Responsibilities:

n

n
- Provide operational support and improvements to ICT Infrastructure, which may include:n n
- Conduct research, analysis, planning, monitoring and maintenance of ICT systems.
n
- Undertake installation work.
n
- Provide after-hours support to users as part of rostered On-call arrangements.
n

n
- Lead development or support activities within a team environment
n
- Review, design, update and build documentation.
n
- Support and manage organisation priorities and effort.
n
- Support Senior Infrastructure Engineers with technical design planning and implementation.
n
- Use monitoring and management tools to support performance, availability and capacity planning.
n




- Provide subject matter expertise to team members and advice to senior management and other staff in the development of new capabilities.
n

Education, Qualifications and Experience requirements:

n

The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded:

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline is highly regarded.
n
- Experience supporting large-scale or enterprise ICT environments.
n
- Experience providing complex ICT infrastructure or Service Desk support.
n
- VMware software-defined environments, containerisation and hyper-converged data centres.
n
- Microsoft Enterprise Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, unified communications, end-user computing, SOEs, file services and remote branch infrastructure.
n
- Experience deploying and supporting cloud platforms, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments (Google, AWS and Microsoft Azure).
n
- Server management experience, ideally management of physical data centre infrastructure.
n
- Environment patching, firmware upgrades, monitoring systems for capacity consumption and planning, and environment trending.
n
- Physical and virtual server deployment.
n
- Experience hardening servers.
n
- Storage platforms and hardware.
n
- Backup and enterprise recovery technologies.
n
- Desktop support, troubleshooting and remediation.
n

Experience in the following is desirable, but not essential:

n

n
- Infrastructure as code (on-premises and cloud), including automated infrastructure deployment tools, CI/CD pipelines.
n
- Automation and scripting using tools such as PowerShell.
n
- Desktop and SOE support and development.
n
- Certifications preferred but not essential.
n
- Experience delivering technology projects.
n
- Experience applying ITIL concepts in the workplace.
