The Role
n
Reporting to the Principal Lawyer, you will provide commercially focused legal advice and support on a variety of construction and contract-related matters, including:
n
n
- Construction contracts and contract administration
n
- Contract reviews and risk assessments
n
- Security of Payment matters
n
- Payment disputes
n
- Suspension and termination of contracts
n
- Adjudication Applications and Responses
n
- Contract drafting and amendments
n
- Legal research and case law analysis
n
- Preparation of legal articles, guidance notes and industry resources
n
- Delivery of member education sessions, workshops and seminars
n
- Review and improvement of standard form construction contracts
n
n
This is a diverse role combining legal advisory work, stakeholder engagement, contract review, education, and industry support.
n
About You
n
To be successful, you will possess:
n
n
- Minimum 5 years' post-admission experience
n
- Robust construction law and contracts experience
n
- Knowledge of Queensland construction legislation and Security of Payment processes
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Ability to provide practical and commercially focused advice
n
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
n
- A proactive, organised and client-focused approach
n
- Experience within construction, infrastructure or projects environments will be highly regarded
