Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team on a large-scale almond orchard in Hattah, Victoria. This is a hands-on role responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of our almond machinery, heavy vehicles, light vehicles, and farm infrastructure. The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

n

Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on agricultural machinery, diesel engines, and heavy vehicles.

n

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.

n

Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.

n

Complete repairs to a high standard while maintaining accurate service records.

n

Assist with fabrication and welding tasks as required.

n

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.

n

Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to support orchard operations.

n

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety standards.

Skills & Experience

n

Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent.

n





Experience servicing and repairing diesel engines and agricultural or heavy equipment.

n

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

n

Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

n

Welding and fabrication experience is advantageous.

n

Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.

n

Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

n

Current driver's licence.

n

Experience in an agricultural environment is desirable but not essential.
