Job Description

Chouette Cake & Dessert is seeking an experienced and reliable Pastrycook to join our bakery café in Underwood on a full time basis.

Our menu combines contemporary café products with Korean-inspired cakes, flavours, presentation styles and seasonal trends.

n

The successful applicant should have strong pastry-production and cake-finishing skills. Practical knowledge of Korean-style baking and desserts, or experience producing similar Asian-style products, will be highly regarded.

Key responsibilities include:

- Preparing and producing cakes, pastries and desserts
n
- Preparing cake bases, fillings, creams and other components
n
- Decorating and finishing products to a consistently high standard
n
- Following recipes and daily production schedules
n
- Maintaining consistency in taste, appearance and portion size
n
- Checking ingredient quality and monitoring stock levels
n
- Minimising waste and using ingredients efficiently
n
- Maintaining food-safety, hygiene and cleaning standards
n
- Assisting with seasonal and Korean-inspired product development
n
- Coordinating effectively with the bakery and front-of-house teams
n

The successful applicant should have:

- Relevant pastry qualifications or substantial commercial pastry experience
n
- Strong cake-finishing and decorating skills
n
- Experience working in a busy commercial bakery or pastry kitchen
n
- The ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
n
- Good knowledge of food safety and workplace hygiene
n
- An understanding of Korean dessert trends, flavours and presentation styles
n
- Reliable availability for early starts, weekends and public holidays
n
- Korean-language ability is highly regarded due to the workplace environment and communication with Korean-speaking team members
n

This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours per week. Working hours will be arranged through a rotating roster and will include early-morning starts, weekends and public holidays. Applicants must be able to meet these roster requirements consistently.

Remuneration range $75000 - $82000
