Mining Pro has an exciting chance for experienced Leading Hand to join our team on a Tailings Project in North Queensland.

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

- Previous experience in hard rock mining environment in a tailings removal project
n
- Previous experience in a Supervisory or Leading Hand position
n
- Experience operating the following equipment (or equivalent):

n
- Hitachi EX2600 and EX3600 Excavators
n
- Hitachi EX1200 Long Arm Excavators
n
- CAT D6LGP (Tailings Work) and D10 Dozers
n
- CAT 18M Graders
n
- CAT 789 or Hitachi EH3500 Haul Trucks
n
- Valid Australian Manual Driver Licence
n
- National Police Check (valid within the last 3 months or willingness to obtain)
n
- Supervisor Qualifications (G1, G8, G9)
n
- Signed valid Training Transcripts/Skills list
n
- Standard 11 Qualification
n
- Current mining medical and Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), or ability to obtain prior to commencement
n
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
n
- Ability to work effectively within a production-focused mining environment
n

About the Role

n

Reporting to the site management team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mining equipment within a hard rock tailings operation.

n

Your duties will include:

n
- Coordinating work within an active mining production schedule
n
- Managing a crew on the following equipment:

n
- Hitachi EX2600 and EX3600 Excavators
n
- Hitachi EX1200 Long Arm Excavators
n
- CAT 18M Graders
n
- CAT D6LGP (Tailings Work) and D10 Dozers
n
- CAT 789 and Hitachi EH3500 haul trucks
n
- Conducting pre-start inspections and equipment checks
n
- Maintaining safe and productive operating practices
n
- Working in accordance with site safety, environmental and operational procedures
n
- Identifying and reporting hazards, defects and incidents
n
- Working collaboratively within a close-knit production team to achieve operational targets
