An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of a large-scale agricultural enterprise in Central Victoria. This is a key leadership role responsible for seasonal operational planning, safety, team performance, harvest readiness, resource management and continuous improvement across a substantial olive grove operation.

Reporting to senior management, you will play an integral role in driving operational success while leading a committed team in a business focused on long-term sustainability, innovation and operational excellence.

About the Role

This position offers a unique combination of leadership, strategic planning and hands-on operational management.

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Leading and developing a team of operational employees and supervisors.
n
- Managing day-to-day olive grove operations, crop programs and seasonal activities.
n
- Implementing annual grove plans, seasonal programs and performance targets.
n
- Driving efficiency, productivity, fruit quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
n
- Managing machinery operation, maintenance programs and equipment availability.
n
- Overseeing workplace health and safety systems and fostering a strong safety culture.
n
- Coordinating contractors, suppliers and operational resources.
n
- Monitoring operational budgets, reporting outcomes and resource allocation.
n

About You

We are seeking a practical and capable leader who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with operational execution.

You will bring:

- Proven experience in agricultural, horticultural, viticultural, production, manufacturing or operational leadership environments.
n
- Strong people leadership and communication skills.
n
- Experience leading teams through seasonal workloads and changing priorities.
n
- Sound commercial and financial acumen.
n
- Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of machinery operations, irrigation systems and equipment maintenance.
n
- A proactive approach to planning, problem-solving and decision-making.
n
- A commitment to workplace safety, compliance and continuous improvement.
n
- Computer literacy and confidence using operational systems and reporting tools.
n
- Experience within horticultural, agricultural or large-scale farming operations will be highly regarded; however, candidates with transferable operational leadership experience from similar industries are encouraged to apply.

Location

Based at the farm in Central Victoria, approximately 60 minutes north-west from Bendigo, this hands-on role requires daily onsite attendance and the flexibility to respond to the changing demands of key seasonal periods, including harvest and pruning.
