Diagnosing refrigeration, mechanical and electrical faults

Servicing and repairing coolrooms, freezer rooms and associated equipment

n

Fault finding on compressors, motors, fans, controls, contactors, relays, sensors and protection devices

n

Reading electrical schematics and control diagrams

n

Replacing compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, motors and electrical components

n

Working with electronic expansion valves, controllers, VSDs and control systems

n

Refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging and commissioning

n

Completing planned preventative maintenance

n

Carrying out equipment replacements and system upgrade works

n

Testing and confirming correct operation following repairs

n

Completing service reports, asset information and job documentation

n

Communicating professionally with customers and site representatives

n

Participating in an after-hours roster where required

n

The position requires regular travel throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria. Some early starts, overnight stays and occasional interstate travel may be required. Accommodation and applicable travel expenses will be provided.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Attending commercial refrigeration breakdowns
n
- Diagnosing refrigeration, mechanical and electrical faults
n

About You

n

n
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
n
- Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence
n
- Current Australian driver's licence
n
- Commercial refrigeration service and breakdown experience
n
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
n
- Confidence reading electrical schematics and diagnosing control faults
n
- Experience with coolrooms, freezer rooms and commercial condensing units
n
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of jobs
n
- Good communication and customer service skills
n
- A reliable, skilled and safety-focused attitude
n
- Flexibility to travel and work reasonable overtime when required
n

n

A restricted electrical licence, electrical trade background or additional electrical qualifications will be highly regarded.

n

Experience with electronic expansion valves, digital scroll compressors, VSDs, motors, controllers and commercial refrigeration controls will also be advantageous.
