Rolleston Open Cut is a 16Mtpa thermal coal mine located in the southern Bowen Basin in Central Queensland. With a long life of mine and low operating costs, the mine has a bright outlook. Since 2005, we have grown to become one of the largest surface mines in Australia, whilst continuing to foster a culture underpinned by safety, achievement, flexibility and teamwork to improve the skills of each and every person on the mine site every day. About the Role

n

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Drill and Blast Engineer to join our dynamic Technical Services team. Reporting to the Short-Term Planning Superintendent, you will be responsible for:

n

- Developing drill patterns, loading designs and blast tie-in designs.
n
- Design and optimise blasts, incorporating learnings from previous performance while ensuring compliance with site standards, procedures and the SHMS.
n
- Liaise with Survey and Operations to ensure drill preparation standards are upheld, documentation and approvals are completed prior to issuing drill patterns.
n
- Work with Planning Engineers to optimise mine plans and support the delivery of short, medium and long-term planning outcomes.
n
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and blast optimisation trials.
n
- Coach and mentor Mining Engineers, fostering technical capability within the team.

About you

n

To be successful in this role, you will have:

n

n
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
n
- Demonstrated experience in a Drill and Blast Engineering or similar mining engineering role.
n




- Proficiency in Vulcan and BlastLogic software.
n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and operational teams.
n
- The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced mining workplace.
n
