We are seeking a motivated Apprentice Maintenance Fitter to join our client Sunny Queen in a hands‐on maintenance team supporting production, process equipment and site operations.

During this four‐year apprenticeship you will complete a MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting).

This role is suited to someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in learning the maintenance fitting trade.
n
The role is based at Yarranlea, a 45-minute drive from Toowoomba.
n
This Maintenance Fitter role involves assisting with the upkeep, repair and preventative maintenance of a range of production machinery, process equipment and site assets.
n
The role does not involve lathe or mill work. Day‐to‐day duties will include machine checks, mechanical maintenance, fabrication, welding tasks and general support around the property when required.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
n
n
- Carrying out preventative maintenance, including daily checks on machinery and equipment
n
- Maintaining and repairing egg separating machines, process equipment and Cryovac machines
n
- Working on and repairing mechanical pumps across the site
n
- Assisting with fabrication and welding tasks, TIG welding
n
- Purge welding
n
- Using hand tools and welding equipment safely and correctly
n
- Supporting site projects such as shed extensions and other property improvements
n
- Assisting with general farm and property duties such as mowing, whipper snipping and tractor operation
n

About You
n
The successful candidate will be punctual, reliable, hard‐working and genuinely interested in learning the maintenance fitting trade.
n
You will bring mechanical knowledge or aptitude, basic hand tool knowledge and a willingness to work safely in a production and maintenance environment.
n
In addition to these qualities, you will:
n
n
- Hold a current driver licence, manual licence preferred but not essential
n
- Have a construction White Card, or ability to attain one
n
- Have mechanical knowledge and aptitude, ideally with basic hand tool experience
n
- Have welding experience, or an interest in learning welding
n
- Bring a positive work ethic and a genuine desire to learn the trade
n
- Be punctual, reliable and safety conscious
n
- Have a reliable vehicle as the worksite is not accessible by public transport
