About the Role
n
We are looking for a qualified and passionate Chef to join our team. This role offers the
n
opportunity to work in a great, supportive environment. Experience in a traditional Korean dining
n
restaurant setting is highly regarded.
n
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well with others, and have a
n
deep understanding of authentic Korean cuisine. You must be able to multitask, remain calm
n
under pressure, and have a very good understanding of food and all aspects of a commercial
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Planning menus for traditional Korean dishes, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies.
n
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation to ensure authenticity and high standards.
n
- Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff.
n
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising on procedures, specifically for authentic Korean cuisine and double-frying methods.
n
- Preparing and cooking food to a high standard.
n
- Explaining and enforcing all hygiene and food safety regulations.
n
- Assisting with the selection and training of kitchen staff.
n
- Managing stock rotation, including freezing and preserving foods as required.
n
n
Qualifications & Skills
n
n
- Trade Qualifications: At least a Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (or equivalent).
n
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant full-time work experience as a Chef
n
- Knowledge and experience in high-volume food preparation and a rapid-paced customer environment, preferably with traditional Korean cuisine.
n
- High level of interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
n
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
n
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
n
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
n
