At JAX Tyres & Auto St Marys, we are seeking a skilled and motivated Motor Mechanic to join our team at STORE. As a motor mechanic, you will play a vital role in servicing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring our customers drive away with confidence and peace of mind. As a tyre technician, you will play a vital hands‐on role, working with premium tyre brands across a wide variety of vehicles, expertly fitting, balancing and repairing tyres ensuring our customers drive away with confidence and peace of mind.

What you'll be doing
n
n
- Conducting vehicle diagnostics, servicing and mechanical repairs
n
- Performing maintenance on engines, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems and more
n
- Fitting, balancing and rotating tyres for a wide range of vehicles
n
- Road testing vehicles to ensure the quality of repairs
n
- Accurately completing service documentation and job cards
n
- Communicating with customers to explain issues and proposed solutions
n
- Working collaboratively with the workshop team to meet deadlines and maintain high service standards
n
- Following all safety protocols and company procedures
n
- Performing tyre repairs and inspections
n
- Maintaining a clean and safe workspace
n
- Delivering excellent customer service and tyre‐related advice
n
- Assisting with stock handling and inventory when needed
n
- Willing to learn Wheel Alignment
n
n
What we're looking for
n
n
- 5-10 years' experience as a qualified Motor Mechanic & Tyre Technician
n
- Automotive trade qualification and certificates
n
- Essential requirement to have experience managing and training apprentices as this is a key responsibility of the role
n
- Current valid Driver's Licence
n
- Must hold a Vehicle Inspector License for conducting pink slip inspections
n
- Have your own tools
n
- Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
n
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment
n
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
n
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
n
- A strong focus on safety and compliance with WHS regulations
n

- Available to work on Saturdays
