Responsibilities:
n
Prepare and cook meals to the venue's established recipes, menus and presentation standards.
n
Confidently manage your own kitchen shift, including preparation, service and closing duties.
n
Work cooperatively with other cooks and venue staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
n
Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
n
Assist with stock rotation, ordering, inventory control and minimising waste as required.

Maintain a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen.
n
Follow all workplace health and safety, food safety and hygiene requirements.
n
Communicate openly with the Venue Manager regarding stock, maintenance, staffing or operational matters.
n
Qualifications and Experience:
n
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery, or an equivalent qualification, is preferred.
n
Experienced cooks without formal qualifications will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong practical cooking skills.
n
Food safety accreditation, including SITXFSA005 and SITXFSA006, is preferred; however,
we can assist the right candidate to obtain this.
n
At least three years' experience in a similar kitchen role is preferred.
n
The ability to confidently work independently and run your own shift.
n
Solid organisational and time-management skills, particularly during busy service periods.
n
A reliable, practical and team-focused approach.
n
Good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully within a supportive team.
n
Location and Relocation:
n
We strongly support local employment; however, due to ongoing skills shortages within our industry and region, we also encourage applications from experienced cooks willing to relocate to Tasmania's remote West Coast.
n
Private live-in accommodation is available and can be discussed with the successful candidate.
n
Flexible roster options may be considered to support a healthy work-life balance.
n
Live in one of Tasmania's most picturesque and unique regions, within easy reach of Strahan, Cradle Mountain and the surrounding wilderness.
n
Work in a historic venue rich in West Coast character.
n
Enjoy rainforest, hiking, world-class mountain bike trails and outdoor adventures on your doorstep.
n
Forget traffic jams—and even traffic lights!
n
Receive support from the Venue Manager and our experienced remote management team.
