Your current company Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join the leadership team of a large-scale resources operation in the Northern Territory. This permanent FIFO opportunity offers a 4 days on, 3 days off roster from Darwin and plays a critical role in driving the site's commercial performance, governance, and operational success.

Your new role Reporting to the Vice President Operations, the Manager Commercial is responsible for leading the site's commercial, procurement, contract management, finance, and business performance functions. As a key member of the Leadership Team, you will partner closely with senior operational leaders to support strategic decision-making, maximise commercial value, manage risk, and identify opportunities to improve overall business performance.

The role also provides leadership across the Supply, Warehouse, and Finance teams, ensuring strong commercial outcomes and effective operational support.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all commercial, procurement, and contract management activities across the operation
n
- Negotiate, manage, and optimise major supplier and contractor agreements
n
- Oversee tendering processes and contract award activities
n
- Develop and monitor annual operating budgets and cost forecasts
n




- Provide commercial advice and insights to senior operational leaders
n
- Analyse business performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs
n
- Drive supplier performance and value creation initiatives
n
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, delegation authorities, and commercial policies
n
- Lead, develop, and support Supply, Warehouse, and Finance teams
n

What you'll need to succeed

- Strong experience in commercial management, procurement, contracts, and business performance
n
- Experience developing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis within a complex operational environment
n
- Proven leadership capability and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
n
- Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving value, governance, and continuous improvement
n
- Experience within mining, resources, energy, infrastructure, construction, or other large operational environments will be highly regarded
n
