About the Role

n

We are seeking an autonomous, detail-oriented Company Accountant to take full ownership of our internal finance function. Reporting directly to the Directors and external Tax Advisories, this is a standalone role perfect for a mid-level accounting professional or senior bookkeeper who loves managing the numbers from end-to-end.

You will be responsible for everything from daily transactional management to critical compliance lodgements, ensuring our books are accurate, compliant, and up-to-date.

Key Responsibilities

n

Day-to-Day: Perform daily bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable management.

n

Month-End: Lead the month-end closing process, including preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.

n

Compliance & Tax: Prepare and lodge quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS)



and manage monthly state-based payroll tax calculations and lodgements.

n

Payroll: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for our team, ensuring full compliance with STP Phase 2 regulations.

n

Reporting: Assist management with cash flow tracking and monthly financial reporting.

What We Are Looking For

n

Experience: 3–5+ years of local Australian accounting or senior bookkeeping experience (essential).

n

Tax Knowledge: A solid, working understanding of Australian tax compliance, specifically GST, PAYG, and state payroll tax rules.

n

Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency in Xero (or MYOB) and modern payroll systems.

n

Autonomy: A self-starter who doesn't need their hand held and can confidently navigate month-end discrepancies.

- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce (Accounting major), with a CPA or CA qualified.
