The Employment & Industrial Relations team is now in need of an intermediate level lawyer to join their Sydney office.

Employment & Industrial Relations

n

The Sydney Employment & Industrial Relations practice is led by two experienced practitioners.

n

They work across a range of workplace relations, industrial relations and general employment matters - both litigious and advisory - in sectors including private equity, telecommunications, technology, energy and entertainment industries.

n

Position Description

n

You will work most closely with two experienced partners and a special counsel level lawyer in a position that will allow a significant amount of autonomy and responsibility for someone at this level.

n

As an important member of the Sydney based practice, you can expect to be involved in:

n

n
- litigation matters including breach of contract, breach of consumer law, general protections,



underpayment claims, unfair dismissal claims and equity
n
- drafting of Australian employment contracts and policies (including equity and non-equity compensation plans)
n
- advice regarding:
n
- statutory entitlements
n
- industrial instruments (including Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements)
n
- termination of employment
n
- restraints
n
- secondments
n
- personal data and privacy security
n
- transfer of business issues
n
- advice on, and the negotiation of, enterprise agreements with employees and trade unions.
n

You will also have the opportunity to work with the firm's other offices from time to time.

n

Requirements

n

You will be a solicitor with 3+ years' proven experience in employment law from a recognised practice.

n

In addition, you will have:

n

n
- an ability to communicate effectively.
n

n
