BK Civil Group Pty Ltd is a privately owned business operating across civil construction, earthmoving, transport, plant hire and associated services.

We are currently seeking an experienced WHS Advisor to join our team on a FIFO basis from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns working a 2/1 roster to support the delivery of a major project in Northwest Queensland.

Key Requirements:

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in heavy earthmoving and/or mining industries
n
- Practical machinery operating experience (highly desirable)
n

n

About the Role:

n

You will play a key role in supporting site safety, implementing WHS systems, and providing hands‐on safety leadership to ensure compliance and foster a positive safety culture across the project.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Implementation and management of WHS Project Management Plans,
n
- Assisting in identifying and managing WHS hazards and risks on site.
n
- Promotion of innovation, practical outcomes and continuous improvement within workplace HSE
n
- Building capability within a project team, ensuring compliance with both company and project site policies and procedures,
n
- Onboarding, inducting and mentoring project team members,
n




- Verification of Competency assessments,
n
- WHS document control,
n
- Effective reporting and liaison with both clients and BK management.
n

Skills and experience:

n

n
- WHS Advisor role experience including direct responsibility for working with a team
n
- Experience in civil construction/mining operations and managing heavy earthmoving plant safety
n
- Knowledge and experience in and compliance with legislationincluding Work Health & Safety and Mining and Quarrying Health and Safety Acts and Regulations
n
- Proven experience in assessing WHS performance and driving improvement initiatives
n
- A practical approach to engaging with work teams and managing risks.
n
- Solid organisational and problem-solving skills
n
- High level of computer literacy
n
- Physically fit inc medical assessment for site access
n
- Appropriate qualifications for the role including WHS Cert IV or Diploma, and as a minimum 'C' class manual driver's licence
n
- Advanced industry knowledge, with a working understanding of current WHS legislative requirements, WHS documentation and processes.
