MRAEL are currently seeking a motivatedFitter and Turner Apprenticeto join the team at SWB in Essendon, VIC. SWB was established over 50 years ago with their branch networks now extended to all of Australia. Excellent opportunity for a current Year 12 student looking to start an apprenticeship in January 2027. Immediate start available this year as a trade assistant for the right candidate.

What's involved:

n

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate who is interested in completing training and education as an apprentice with a view to becoming a trade‐qualified Fitter and Turner. You will be learning alongside tradesmen and engineers to solve real problems in real time!

n

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor,



your main responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Workshop based mechanical repairs, gearboxes, pumps, brakes
n
- Dismantling, cleaning, assessing and measuring parts
n
- Machining – Lathe, Mill, Slotter
n
- Cleaning of the workshop
n
- Some on site work
n
- Workshop deliveries (local area)
n
- Assisting with maintaining workshop equipment
n
- Sand blasting and spray painting
n

n

About you:

n

To be considered for this position you will ideally have:

n

n
- A positive attitude to learn in the workplace,
n
- High level of mechanical aptitude,
n
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures, both written and verbal,
n
- Ability to operate equipment and systems,
n

n

You must hold a current Drivers Licence.

n

- The recruitment process includes aptitude testing and the successful candidate is required to pass a pre‐employment medical including drug and alcohol testing.
