We're working with a highly regarded property and construction organisation to appoint a Senior Design Manager. This is an outstanding chance for an experienced design management professional to take ownership of the services function across a diverse portfolio of major developments.

You will be working across commercial offices, mixed-use precincts, Build-to-Sell and Build-to-Rent projects, you'll play a key role in driving technical excellence, influencing project outcomes, and leading multidisciplinary design teams from concept through to completion.

The Role

n

As the Senior Design Manager, you'll provide technical leadership across multiple projects while ensuring services design aligns with programme, budget, buildability and commercial objectives.

n

Key responsibilities include:

n

- Lead the services and technology design function across multiple major developments.
n




- Manage multidisciplinary consultant teams from concept design through to project completion.
n
- Drive design coordination, buildability, value engineering and risk mitigation.
n
- Oversee consultant procurement, tendering and contract negotiations.
n
- Manage project programmes, budgets and commercial performance.
n
- Champion sustainability initiatives including Green Star, NABERS and innovative building solutions.
n
- Lead stakeholder engagement across development, construction, consultants and external authorities.
n
- Mentor and develop high-performing design management teams.
n
- Ensure projects achieve the highest standards of technical delivery, quality and compliance.
n

About You

We're looking for an experienced design management professional who thrives in complex project environments and enjoys leading high-performing teams.

You will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline.
n
- Strong technical understanding of building services, design management and multidisciplinary coordination.
n
- Proven experience managing consultants, contracts, budgets and project programmes.
n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
- Commercial acumen with the ability to balance quality, programme and cost outcomes.
n
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for mentoring and developing teams.
