Corpay Cross Border is a leading provider of international payments and foreign exchange solutions, supporting corporate clients operating across global markets. Our Australian business operates under an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) and, as we continue to grow, we’re investing in the governance frameworks and controls that will support the business into the future.
We’re looking for a Senior Manager – AFSL Financial Resources & Governance to join our Regulatory Compliance team in Sydney in a newly created role with significant scope to shape how we operate. This isn’t a role focused on running the day-to-day Finance function. Instead, you’ll provide independent oversight and challenge, working closely with Finance and other teams to make sure our financial resources, outsourcing and broader governance arrangements are robust, practical and aligned with our regulatory obligations. You will report directly to Head of Regulatory Compliance.
How We Work
As the Senior Manager – AFSL Financial Resources & Governance you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:
Assigned workspace in the Sydney office
Role Responsibilities
There are two key areas of focus:
You’ll help strengthen and evolve the governance framework supporting our AFSL financial resource obligations. Working closely with Finance, Treasury and Regulatory Compliance, you’ll:
Review and enhance financial resources governance frameworks, policies, controls and processes.
Strengthen processes and documentation supporting cash needs and financial resource forecasting.
Provide oversight and challenge around AFSL financial resource requirements, including cash needs, solvency, surplus liquid funds, client money and associated obligations.
Oversee the governance supporting regulatory financial reporting and submissions, helping ensure requirements are understood and delivered accurately and on time.
Review financial resource assessments, challenge assumptions where appropriate and help identify issues before they become problems.
Support regulatory reviews, audits, remediation activity and ongoing compliance monitoring.
Keep frameworks and documentation current as regulatory requirements and the business continue to evolve.
You’ll act as a regulatory partner to Finance: close enough to understand what is happening, while maintaining the independence to challenge, identify gaps and keep the business on track.
Outsourcing and Broader Governance
Your remit will extend beyond financial resources into the governance of outsourced and third-party arrangements across the Australian business. This will include areas such as intercompany services, external vendors, offshoring and arrangements involving functions including HR, IT and Information Security.
You’ll help ensure these arrangements have the right governance, documentation and oversight in place, including:
Reviewing and strengthening outsourcing and third-party governance arrangements.
Ensuring intercompany and external service arrangements are appropriately documented.
Working across functions to identify governance gaps and drive remediation.
Supporting audit, assurance and regulatory submission requirements.
Building processes that are sustainable as the business grows and new reporting and governance obligations emerge.
Some of the work will involve resolving existing gaps; just as importantly, you’ll be helping us build a governance environment that is ready for what comes next.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience with AFSL financial resources requirements and/or regulatory finance governance.
Experience in payments, foreign exchange, treasury or another regulated financial services environment would be highly regarded.
Accounting, finance, legal or relevant qualified qualifications would also be advantageous.
A practical understanding of financial resource requirements such as cash needs, solvency, liquid funds, client money or regulatory financial reporting.
Experience developing or improving governance frameworks, policies, controls and procedures.
Exposure to outsourcing, third-party, vendor or intercompany governance.
Experience working across Finance, Compliance, Risk and other corporate functions.
Strong documentation skills and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into processes that people can use.
The confidence to provide independent oversight and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders.
