n Position: Machine Operator, Steel/Metal Industry Location: Marrickville Days: Mon-Fri Hours: 38 Pay: $33+ casual rate with potential to go FT perm Start: ASAP Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our clients team in the steel industry. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of metalworking machinery to produce high-quality metal products.

Responsibilities
n
n
- Set up and prepare metalworking machines, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, presses, and CNC machines, for production according to specifications.
n
- Operate machinery to shape, cut, form, or assemble metal components used in the production of a wide range of metal products, including but not limited to Connoisseur Racks, Display Racks, Primat Racks, Strip Racks, Brackets, and Clips, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules.
n
- Monitor machine operations and conduct regular inspections to verify product accuracy and quality, making adjustments as needed.
n
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure optimal performance.
n
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols rigorously to maintain a secure working environment and prevent accidents.
n
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors,
and engineers to communicate production updates, issues, and improvements.
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, such as machine malfunctions, material inconsistencies, or quality deviations, to minimize downtime.
n
- Maintain accurate records of production data, machine settings, maintenance activities, and any encountered issues.
n
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement in machine operation and product quality.
n
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines to maintain a productive and positive work environment.
n

Requirements
n
n
- Experience as a Machine Operator in the metal industry, with an understanding of metalworking machinery and techniques (Desirable - Training to be provided by employer)
n
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various metalworking machines
n
- Solid mechanical aptitude and technical skills to perform routine maintenance and address minor mechanical issues.
n
- Attention to detail and precision in following instructions, measurements, and specifications.
n
- Excellent problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
n
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
n
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members, supervisors, and engineers.
n
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
n
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands and learn new techniques or machinery.
n
- Willingness to engage in ongoing training and professional development.
