Service Technician to join our professional team.
About the Role
This is an opportunity for an experienced fire service professional with strong technical knowledge and expertise in servicing, testing, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of wet and special hazard fire protection systems.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Australian Standards, particularlyAS 1851, excellent troubleshooting capabilities, and a skilled approach to client service and compliance reporting.
Experience usingUptick or similar fire servicing and compliance software is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
Service, test, maintain, and repair a broad range of fire protection systems, including:
Wet, dry, and pre-action sprinkler systems
Fire hydrant and hose reel systems
Fire service pump sets, including diesel and electric systems
Conduct inspections, testing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis in accordance withAS 1851 and other relevant Australian Standards.
Identify, diagnose, and rectify system faults, providing effective technical solutions.
Complete accurate service reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation usingUptick or equivalent software.
Maintain a high standard of workmanship, safety, compliance, and documentation.
Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, site representatives, contractors, and internal teams.
Provide clear technical advice and recommendations where required.
Participate in an after-hours emergency call-out roster as required.
Required Experience & Qualifications
QBCC-licensed Sprinkler Fitter with significant industry experience; 5+ years' experience preferred.
Extensive experience in the service and maintenance of:
Fire hydrant systems & Hose reel systems
Strong working knowledge ofAS 1851 and relevant Australian Standards and compliance requirements.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex fire protection system faults.
Experience using fire servicing and compliance software, preferablyUptick.
CurrentConstruction White Card.
CurrentNational Police Check, or the ability to obtain one.
CurrentWorking with Children Check, or the ability to obtain one.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a professional team.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
EWP certification.
Confined Space certification.
Working at Heights certification.
Experience withANSUL systems, including testing, servicing, and installation.
Experience with special hazard fire protection systems.
