Job Description

- Located in Greater Western Sydney | Hybrid working arrangements

- Salary between $100 - $125k + Super depending on experience

- Broad role with ownership of procurement and inventory management

Our client is a well-established Australian company specialising in premium product solutions for the automotive sector, with a broad export footprint.
n
Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced and commercially minded Purchasing Manager to take ownership of procurement and inventory management across the business. This is a hands‐on leadership role responsible for supplier partnerships, purchasing strategy, inventory planning and ensuring the supply chain is set up to support ongoing growth and operational success.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies that support business growth and operational requirements.
n
- Manage domestic and international supplier relationships, including pricing, terms, lead times and supply agreements.
n
- Oversee the purchasing process from purchase order placement through to delivery and supplier performance management.
n
- Lead inventory planning and forecasting to maintain stock availability while minimising excess inventory.
n
- Monitor global supply chain trends, freight costs and market conditions to identify risks and opportunities.
n
- Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Operations and R&D; teams to align procurement activity with business priorities and new product development.
n
- Manage import processes and ensure compliance with customs, trade and regulatory requirements.
n
- Analyse purchasing data and report on supplier performance,
stock levels, purchasing trends and cost‐saving initiatives.
n
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across procurement and supply chain processes.
n

About You:
n
n
- Experience in a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager or similar leadership role.
n
- Strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to build effective supplier relationships.
n
- Experience with inventory forecasting, demand planning and stock management.
n
- Strong understanding of international sourcing, freight, logistics and supply chain operations.
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data‐driven decisions.
n
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Background in automotive, manufacturing, wholesale distribution or a related industry will be highly regarded.
n
