Job Description

Due to continued growth and an increase in ongoing projects, N2N Telecom Services is seeking qualified and experienced Optical Fiber Splicers with experience in Rod & Rope and Cable Hauling to join our team. We offer both full-time and part-time employment opportunities across a range of telecommunications projects throughout the Melbourne region.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret construction drawings, cable plans, and transmission designs.
n
- Work on Telstra Wideband, AURA, DATA@IP, NBN ODMS, and Transit projects.
n
- Install, terminate fiber optic cables, joints and sub-racks within Telstra and NBN networks for single and ribbon fibers.
n
- Install and configure customer-end equipment, including NTU, NTD, BTD, and other transmission equipment.
n
- Build fiber paths through new and existing telecommunications networks.
n

- Complete optical fiber patching in exchanges and customer premises.
n
- Conduct OTDR, insertion loss (IL), and throughput testing.
n
- Perform fault finding using optical power meters and light sources.
n
- Complete exchange transfers and fibre patching activities.
n




- Carry out internal and external cable hauling, including rod and rope operations.
n
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and protected work practices.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Proven experience as an Optical Fiber Technician on a major telecommunications network.
n
- NBN enAble accreditation.
n
- ACMA Open Cable Registration with Fiber Endorsement.
n

- Ability to read and interpret cable plans and network designs.
n
- Confined Space certification.
n
- Traffic Management Training.
n
- Construction Induction (White Card).
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
n
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
n
- Reliable transport and willingness to travel throughout the Melbourne metropolitan region and other states.
n
- Full Australian work rights.
n
