About the role
n
Mater Hospital Brisbane is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Nurse's with experience in Medical and Surgical to work within the Emergency Department as part of Mater's Novice Program.
n
This role will be offered on a permanent part time (36hrs per week) basis. The successful candidates will be required to work across a 7-day rotating roster including, early and late shifts, night shifts and on call based at South Brisbane.
n
The department offers a 24-hour comprehensive emergency service for adult patients, staffed by experienced emergency doctors, nurses, training registrars and house officers. The department provides care to adolescents and adults with a full range of acute illness and injuries including Medical, Surgical, Oncology, Orthopaedics and Gynaecological emergencies.
n
We are seeking dynamic and adaptable Registered Nurses who will be motivated by a challenging and fast paced environment. Key responsibilities and duties include:

- Achieving optimal patient outcomes throughout the patient journey and continuum of care
n
- Demonstrating exceptional clinical expertise and knowledge of procedures and the management of patients seeking outstanding care
n
- Implementing strategies to ensure that quality and risk management are integrated into service provision
n
- Working collaboratively with the nursing team to provide exceptional care every time
n
- Maintaining current knowledge and skills to ensure continued professional growth
n
n
About you
n
To be considered for our Novice Program,
you will require a minimum of 12 months experience within a hospital setting ideally within medical or surgical. You will have:
n
n
- Strong desire to build a career within Emergency
n
- Current AHPRA nursing registration as a Registered Nurse (no restrictions)
n
- Ability to work in an ever-changing and fast paced environment
n
- A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the Mater values
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of different stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
n
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
n
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
n
- Commitment to ensuring the levels of service is always delivered to patients at all times
n
