Civil Project Engineer / Manager – Council & Water Authority Works

Jaydo is a Victorian civil construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering water, sewerage, drainage and related infrastructure works across Victoria. We are known for our long-term client relationships, practical delivery approach, experienced field crews and self-perform capability.

We are looking for a hands-on Civil Project Engineer to take a leading role in helping us bid, win and deliver council and water authority works.

n

This role would suit someone who has worked for a civil contractor delivering projects for local councils, water authorities or similar infrastructure clients, and who enjoys being involved across both the front end and delivery stages of a project.

n

You do not need to be a traditional "end-to-end" Project Manager. We are looking for someone practical, commercially aware and capable of working closely with clients, estimators, supervisors, crews and subcontractors to help turn opportunities into well-delivered projects.

About the role

n

This is a hands-on role focused on minor civil works, council projects and water authority infrastructure projects.

n

You will be involved in:

n

n
- Identifying and assessing suitable project opportunities
n
- Assisting with estimating, tender submissions and pricing
n
- Reviewing scopes, drawings, specifications and site requirements
n
- Building and maintaining relationships with council and water authority clients
n
- Supporting project planning,



procurement and resource coordination
n
- Working closely with supervisors, crews and subcontractors during delivery
n
- Monitoring project costs, program, quality and safety requirements
n
- Helping ensure projects are delivered practically, commercially and to client expectations
n

n

Projects may include drainage upgrades, culvert works, stormwater infrastructure, waterways, desilting, erosion control, wetlands, environmental civil works and other local authority / water authority infrastructure works.

n

Typical project values may range from smaller minor works through to projects around the $200k to $1M range.

About you

n

You may currently be working as a:

n

n
- Civil Engineer
n
- Junior Project Manager
n
- Estimator with civil delivery experience
n
- Supervisor with strong technical / commercial capability
n

n

Ideally, you will have experience working for a civil contractor delivering works for councils, water authorities or infrastructure clients.

n

You will bring:

n

n
- Civil construction experience, ideally in water, drainage, council or minor works
n
- Ability to read drawings, understand scopes and assess constructability
n
- Experience supporting project estimates, tenders or pricing
n




- Strong communication and client relationship skills
n
- A practical, hands-on approach to solving project issues
n
- Confidence working with supervisors, crews and subcontractors
n
- Commercial awareness and attention to cost, program and scope
n
- A genuine interest in helping grow a steady pipeline of repeat client work
n

Most importantly, you will be someone who can build trust with clients, understand what needs to be delivered, and work with the team to get the job done properly.
