About the Company

Our client is a locally owned, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices across South East Queensland, delivering a strong pipeline of environmental work. They are growing their environmental capability and looking for a Senior Environmental Specialist / Team Lead to be part of the team in South East Queensland.

Position Overview

n

We're looking for an experienced environmental consultant with a proven track record of leading projects, building client relationships, and mentoring teams. You'll combine technical expertise with commercial acumen, helping deliver high-quality environmental outcomes while driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Experience delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental Authorities (EA), approvals and environmental approvals pathways.
n




- Build and maintain strong client partnerships while supporting business growth and new project opportunities.
n
- Apply technical expertise across Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval processes.
n
- Drive project outcomes through effective management of budgets, timelines, and specialist consultants.
n
- Support team growth through mentoring, coaching, and developing environmental professional
n

About You

n

n
- Minimum 8 years' experience in environmental consulting or a related field
n
- Mandatory experience in the resources sector - mining, metals, oil and gas, or petroleum
n
- Robust knowledge of Queensland environmental legislation, including EAs, DAs, EPBC referrals, and EMPs.
n
- Proven business development capability, including cold outreach to new clients
n
- Experience leading or mentoring junior environmental staff
n
- Strong communication with stakeholders, clients and regulators.
n
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Environmental Planning
