Job Description
Join the Community, Mental Health & Wellbeing team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Older Persons Mental Health Services (OPMHS), based in North West Tasmania. This permanent, full‐time position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the recovery journeys of older people, working closely with patients, families, and a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Role
n
This Clinical Nurse Specialist works closely with the public and private sectors to deliver excellence in healthcare, achieving improved outcomes for consumers, the workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
n
Responsibilities
n
n
- Serve as a clinical expert and resource for nursing, medical and allied health staff in the management of consumers with complex mental health needs.
n
- Initiate, develop, implement and evaluate clinical policy, care guidelines, quality improvement and research activities in accordance with contemporary best practice.
n
- Provide case management to a designated number of consumers, including those living with dementia.
n
- Facilitate carer education and support.
n
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organisations, and families to deliver comprehensive care.
n

Qualifications
n
n
- Experience in mental health, with direct clinical nursing experience in mental health settings.
n
- Understanding or ability to develop understanding of relevant statutory, departmental procedures and policies.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- Understanding of trauma‐informed care principles.
n
n
Eligibility
n
n
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
n
- Current Driver's Licence.
n
- Desirable: Extensive, relevant psychiatric nursing experience or credential as a Mental Health Nurse by the Australian and New Zealand College of Mental Health Nurses Inc. or equivalent.
n
- Desirable: Holds or is working towards relevant tertiary qualifications.
n

Salary & Advantages
n
Salary: $109,767 to $115,813 per annum (pro rata) with a 12% superannuation contribution on top of this amount. Salary packaging includes living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment up to $2,650 per FBT year, with other benefits available if eligible.
n
Allowances: Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
n
Travel and relocation assistance: up to $15,000 for overseas and $10,000 for interstate candidates.
n
