Engineering Projects Engineer

About the Role
n
Monday - Friday 8am-4pm

We are partnering with a leading manufacturing business seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a key technical role responsible for driving process performance, continuous improvement, operational reliability and capital projects across a highly automated manufacturing environment.
n
Working closely with Production, Maintenance and Engineering teams, you will play a pivotal role in optimising manufacturing processes while leading engineering projects from initial concept and design through to installation, commissioning and final execution.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead and support capital engineering projects from concept development, design, business case preparation and budgeting through to procurement, installation, commissioning and handover.
n
- Develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, efficiency and operational performance.
n
- Establish, document and maintain process operating parameters, ensuring best practice procedures are implemented and followed.
n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving productivity, minimising waste and increasing equipment reliability.
n
- Analyse manufacturing performance using structured problem-solving methodologies such as RCA, Lean, Six Sigma and A3.
n
- Partner closely with Production and Maintenance teams to provide technical engineering support and resolve complex process issues.
n
- Prepare CAPEX proposals supported by robust financial justification and technical documentation.
n
- Assist in developing future capital investment plans based on production requirements, asset reliability and operational risk.
n
- Design, review and validate engineering solutions, including feasibility studies, installation methods and commissioning activities.
n
- Provide mechanical design and drafting support where required.
n
- Manage contractors, suppliers and external engineering partners throughout project delivery.
n
- Ensure all engineering activities are completed in accordance with relevant safety, quality and engineering standards.
n
- Support preventative maintenance, reliability improvement and asset management initiatives across the site.
n
- Provide technical support during critical breakdowns or major operational issues when required.

About You
n
To be successful, you will ideally possess:
n
n
- Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Process, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
n
- Minimum five years' experience within a manufacturing, process or industrial engineering environment.
n
- Demonstrated experience delivering engineering and capital projects from design through to execution.
n
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process optimisation and continuous improvement.
n
- Experience working within highly automated production environments.
n
- Excellent problem-solving skills with experience using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, RCA or similar methodologies.
n
- Robust mechanical engineering knowledge, with electrical understanding considered advantageous.
