About the prospect

ABOUT THE ROLE

HOPE clinicians work alongside people after a suicide attempt, providing intensive outreach support and individualised therapeutic care. The HOPE team actively engages clients in the assessment of their own suicide risk, and facilitates development of a suicide prevention plan in order to minimize the risk of attempting suicide in the future. The work includes provision of counselling, care co‑ordination, strengths based interventions,



facilitating linkages in the community to support recovery goals and safety planning, working with families to promote resilience and advocacy. HOPE Clinicians work collaboratively with HOPE Lived Experience Worker to engage with clients within 24 hours of receiving referral.

SELECTION CRITERIA

- Registration with your professional body
- Approved degree in Social Work completed and evidence of eligibility for membership of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- At least 5 years post graduate experience, and with recent experience in adult community mental health or inpatient unit.
- Qualification in therapeutic models, or working towards would be advantageous.
- Demonstrated competency in mental state & risk assessment and the ability to prioritise workload.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously and function optimally within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to document and search appropriate data bases.
- Drivers licence

Required evidence





- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
