This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy public practice located on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, providing business and accounting services to a diverse range of clients based all over Australia.

This Senior Accountant role requires a minimum of 4+ years recent experience in public practice and is a full-time position in based in our Mount Eliza office. A strong accounting & taxation knowledge base is of the utmost importance as the successful candidate needs to be job ready and able to work on our client base from day one.

Regular in-house training is provided by external training organisations to all professional staff with the added opportunity to attend additional training courses as required.

Job tasks and responsibilities

n

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

n

Preparation of financial statements &income; tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

n

Preparation of monthly and/or quarterlyBAS reports

n

Dataprocessing & bookkeeping skills with the ability to work with a range of client software programs including Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, Reckon etc

n

Liaising with clients and responding to technical client queries

n

Reporting to and assisting Partners as required

n

Skills and experience

n

The successful applicant will be proactive with a friendly can-do attitude that is confident to work independently,



but can also work as part of a team and assist others when required.

n

Minimum of 4+ years recent accounting experience in Public Practice

n

Ideally be CA/CPA qualified, but not essential depending upon experience

n

Strong accounting & taxation knowledge base

n

Excellent communication & interpersonal skills

n

Integrity, accuracy and exceptional attention to detail

n

Strong technical & organisational skills with proficiency to work with a range of software programs including Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks, Reckon, Microsoft Excel, Word etc

n

A desire to learn & work collaboratively as an enthusiastic team player with a flexible & adaptable approach to the work environment

n

SMSF experience is considered a bonus
