Trades Assistants - Metal Finisher (Multiple Roles)

We're recruiting for multiple Trades Assistantsfor our client, a global leader in defence engineering and manufacturing. These positions play a key role in the process of precision engineering and manufacturing various parts working around highly skilled tradespeople that are heavily reliant on vertical, horizontal, routing, and multi-axis CNC machining. These arefull-time, permanentpositions based in Melbourne's southeast withmultiple day-shift(6AM start) andafternoon-shift(2PM start) opportunities available.

Roles and Responsibilities

n

n
- Perform hand finishing of machined parts, checking for imperfections and compliance
n
- Perform quality inspections at the final production stage to ensure specifications are met
n
- Loading/unloading CNC machines and trucks
n
- Contribute to general workshop operations as needed (maintenance, swarf management, parts management etc.)
n

Skills and Requirements

n

n
- Prior role as a Trades Assistant, Metal Finisher, Workshop Labourer, or General Hand and/or experience in Metal Finishing, Fitting, Welding, Machining, Maintenance, etc.
n
- Physically fit and capable of safely handling manual labour duties
n
- Forklift licence would be highly beneficial
n

NOTE:



To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian Citizen and be eligible to obtain and maintain an AGSVA clearance – Baseline.
