Oceane Hotel is one of Newcastle's iconic waterfront hospitality destinations, offering premium dining, vibrant bars, private events and exceptional customer experiences overlooking Newcastle Harbour.

We're continuing to invest in our venue, our people and our guest experience, and we're looking for an energetic, professional and hands-on Duty Manager to join our leadership team.

About the Role

n

As Duty Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venue while delivering exceptional service standards and supporting our management team.

n

You'll lead shifts across the venue, coach staff, ensure compliance and create memorable guest experiences every day.

n

No two days are the same, making this the perfect role for someone who enjoys variety, leadership and hospitality.

Your Responsibilities

n

- Lead daily venue operations across restaurant, bar and functions
n
- Deliver outstanding customer service and resolve guest concerns professionally
n
- Supervise, motivate and develop front of house team members
n
- Ensure high presentation and cleanliness standards throughout the venue
n
- Open and close the venue
n




- Manage cash handling and end-of-day procedures
n
- Coordinate bookings, walk-ins and large functions
n
- Work closely with the kitchen and management teams
n
- Ensure compliance with RSA, WHS and liquor licensing requirements
n
- Assist with staff training and performance management
n
- Drive a positive workplace culture through leadership and accountability
n

About You

n

n
- Has previous experience as a Duty Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor
n
- Is passionate about hospitality and customer service
n
- Leads by example with a positive attitude
n
- Can remain calm under pressure
n
- Is organised and highly reliable
n
- Has excellent communication and leadership skills
n
- Is flexible to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
n
- Current NSW RSA Competency Card
n
- Previous hospitality leadership experience
n
- Strong food & beverage knowledge
n
- Availability across a rotating roster
n
