Job Description

We're hiring a Junior Systems Analyst to be the first point of contact for our clients' day-to-day data and reporting needs. You'll own incoming requests end to end - triaging what lands in our ticketing queue, investigating data issues, making routine reporting changes, and keeping client reference data accurate - resolving most yourself and looping in the Systems Analyst only when something's genuinely complex.

This is a full-time role based in our Cremorne office, five days a week - you'll work directly alongside the team that trains you, especially in your first few weeks. You'll work closely with our Systems Analyst and Delivery team from day one.

You'll be trained on our full tech stack (the ARTIQ Lakehouse, Power BI, GitHub, and our data-integration tooling), so you don't need prior experience with our specific tools. What you do need is a sharp analytical mind, comfort with data and systems, and the judgment to know when to solve something yourself and when to ask.

Artiq develops, builds and manages cloud data platforms delivering reporting and AI solutions for food, beverage and hospitality operators - from quick-service restaurant chains to retail food and beverage operators. We turn messy, disconnected sales and operations data into reporting our clients use to run their business.

What you'll do

n

- Act as first point of contact for client requests - scope, resolve, or elevate with a clear summary
n




- Investigate data issues and trace them back through the data pipeline to root cause
n
- Write and modify data views in the ARTIQ Lakehouse and reporting measures in Power BI
n
- Maintain client reference data (locations, products, budgets)
n
- Manage Power BI security roles and user access
n
- Contribute to client onboarding and delivery projects using established templates
n
- Pick up recurring, predictable tasks handed over from the wider team
n

About you

n
- A solid understanding of relational databases and core data concepts
n
- Systems thinking - you can reason about how a change in one part of a system flows through the rest
n
- Confident, everyday use of AI tools, with the judgment to check and validate what they produce
n
- Robust written communication - you can scope a vague request and explain findings clearly
n
- Full-time availability, based in Melbourne, working from our Cremorne office
n

You'll stand out if you have:

n
- Hands-on experience with Power BI
n
- Some SQL development or database experience - even from study, personal projects, or a prior role
n
- Exposure to designing reporting or analytics that supports operational decisions
n
- A background in hospitality, QSR, retail, or transactional sales data
n
- Relevant data or BI certifications
n
