The opportunity

Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Strategy Advisor to play a pivotal role in shaping long-term growth and investment decisions across Australia and New Zealand.

n

Reporting to the General Manager - Strategy, this role sits at the heart of the business, partnering with senior leaders across Water, Energy Networks, Telecommunications, Power Transmission & Storage and Industrials. You will provide deep financial, commercial and market insight to support M&A; activity, strategic planning and sector positioning in a complex, ASX-listed environment.

This is a high-impact role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with executives, influencing decisions, and delivering strategic outcomes that directly shape the future of the business.

What you'll do

n

n
- Prepare , analyse and report on market, industry and competitor trends to identify growth opportunities and risks
n
- Build financial models, valuations and conduct due diligence to support M&A; and strategic investments
n
- Partner with EGMs, GMs and senior leaders to develop sector strategies and market factbooks
n
- Prepare high-quality executive reports, presentations and board papers
n
- Provide economic and sector insights to inform medium and long-term strategic planning

What we're looking for

n

n
- 3- 5 years' experience in strategy, management consulting, infrastructure advisory, M&A;, investment banking or similar
n
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis capability
n
- Ability to undertake complex problem solving and problem structuring
n
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- A proactive, self-driven approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills
