We are seeking an exceptional National Head of Accountsto join our leadership team in Canberra. This is not a traditional finance role. You will be at the centre of decision-making, partnering closely with the CFO, external accounts team and senior leaders to elevate financial capability, improve systems, and deliver insights that fuel sustainable growth.

About the Role

n

Based in Canberra, this office-based national leadership role oversees the Accounts function across the multi state business. You will lead financial operations, strengthen controls, and deliver consistent, high-quality financial performance across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Lead national financial operations including accounting, reporting, BAS and taxation obligations
n
- Develop and enhance financial policies, procedures and internal controls
n
- Coach and lead the Accounts team to build capability and performance
n
- Partner with senior leaders to set KPIs and drive financial accountability
n




- Provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions
n
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks and external partners
n
- Ensure consistent financial governance and service delivery nationally
n
- Drive system improvements and operational efficiencies
n

About You

n

You are a strategic finance leader who combines technical strength with strong people leadership and commercial thinking.

n

You will bring:

n

n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
n
- CA, CPA or NIA qualification
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation (GST, FBT, income tax, CGT)
n
- 5+ years in a senior accounting, finance manager or financial controller role
n
- Proven experience leading teams and complex financial operations
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Facilities ,property or construction sector experience (desirable)
n
- Interest in AI and automation within financial processes (highly regarded)
n
