About the role

n

Holicare is seeking a compassionate and reliable Community Personal Care Worker (Overnights) to join our team in Melbourne and Ballarat. This is a casual position offering flexible overnight shifts to support vulnerable members of our community. In this role, you will provide essential personal care services to clients in their homes during overnight hours, ensuring their safety, dignity and wellbeing. This position is integral to our mission of delivering person-centred care and support to aged and disability service users who require assistance during evening and night-time hours.

Key responsibilities

n

Provide personal care assistance including bathing, meal preparation, toileting, grooming and dressing to clients in their home environment

n

Assist clients with mobility, transfers and repositioning using appropriate manual handling techniques

n

Monitor and respond to clients' health and safety needs throughout overnight shifts

n

Complete accurate, timely, and detailed progress notes and documentation on every client visit, ensuring all care provided, observations, incidents, and changes in client condition are recorded in accordance with organisational policies and compliance requirements

n

Communicate effectively with clients, families and the broader care team about client needs and wellbeing

n

Maintain a clean and safe environment within clients' homes

n

Respond compassionately to clients' emotional and social needs during overnight hours

n





Conduct regular wellbeing checks, respond promptly to alarms, calls, or distress, and provide reassurance, particularly for clients experiencing confusion or anxiety

n

Record detailed overnight observations including sleep patterns, behavioural changes, and incidents, and deliver clear and accurate handovers to incoming staff

n

You will demonstrate:

n

Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Aged Care or Disability, or Certificate III in Individual Support

n

Previous experience as personal care worker (aged care, disability or home care)

n

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

n

The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

n

Must be willing to travel with own transportation

n

Mandatory Requirements:

n

Current working rights in Australia

n

Current Police Check (within last 12 months)

n

Employee Working with Children Check

n

NDIS Worker Screening Check

n

Current Victorian Driver's License

n
