The Opportunity
n
Due to continued growth, Hall Contracting is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function across its Australian operations.
n
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the planning and delivery of maintenance across a diverse fleet of marine vessels and heavy equipment.
n
Based in Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast, this office-based leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee major equipment refurbishments, improve asset reliability and play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of projects across Australia.

Key Responsibilities
n
- Lead and coordinate maintenance activities across Hall Contracting's marine fleet and heavy equipment.
n
- Develop and manage maintenance plans, schedules and resource allocation to support operational requirements.
n
- Oversee preventative, planned and breakdown maintenance to maximise asset availability and reliability.
n
- Manage major repairs, vessel dockings, equipment refurbishments and overhaul projects.
n
- Monitor asset performance, identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
n
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for equipment failures.
n
- Manage maintenance budgets, forecasting, procurement and cost control.
n
- Coordinate workshop, project and field maintenance teams to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
n
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting within the asset management system.
n
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, suppliers and subcontractors to support maintenance delivery.
n
- Mentor and lead maintenance personnel while promoting a strong safety and performance culture.
n
About You
n
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance across a fleet of marine assets such as tugs, barges, multicats, dredgers or similar.
n
- Experience managing maintenance of large mobile plant or earthmoving equipment, particularly excavators or draglines, will be highly regarded.
n
- Proven experience delivering major equipment refurbishment projects, including vessel dockings or large plant overhauls.
n
- Strong background in maintenance planning, project management, budgeting and cost forecasting.
n
- Experience leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams across workshop and field environments.
n
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance operational priorities, budgets and asset performance.
n
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and safety.
