Autobarn Toowoomba Customer Service Position

We are looking for a reliable and approachable person to join our team as a Casual Retail Sales Assistant.

n

This role would suit a recent school leaver looking to begin a career in retail, someone with previous customer service experience, or a genuine automotive enthusiast who enjoys helping people.

n

Previous automotive or retail experience would be helpful, but it is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to speak with customers.

n

About the role

n

Your main responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Operating our point-of-sale system and processing customer transactions
n
- Greeting customers and helping them find suitable products
n
- Answering basic product questions and seeking assistance from experienced team members when required
n
- Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays
n
- Keeping the sales floor clean, organised, and presentable
n
- Assisting with general retail and store duties
n
- Continuing to build your automotive and product knowledge
n

n

This is not a high-pressure sales setting. Our focus is on listening to customers, providing helpful advice, and making sure they leave with the right product for the job.

n

About you

We are looking for someone who:

- Is friendly, dependable, and comfortable speaking with customers
n
- Has a genuine interest in cars, automotive products,



or practical hands-on work
n
- Is willing to learn and ask questions
n
- Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail
n
- Can work effectively as part of a team
n
- Is comfortable using computers and learning a point-of-sale system
n
- Can follow instructions and complete tasks without constant supervision
n
- Is available to work weekends
n

You do not need to know everything about cars before applying. We have an experienced team who can provide training and help you develop your product knowledge.

n

Availability

n

This is a casual position, with shifts rostered between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm, including weekends.

n

Applicants must have enough flexibility to work a combination of weekday and weekend shifts. The ability to cover additional shifts when other team members are unavailable would be highly valued.

n

There may be opportunities for additional hours in the future for the right person.

n

Due to the weekday availability required, this position is better suited to a recent school leaver or someone who has completed school rather than a current school-based applicant.
