Position Summary :

n

The role of the Delivery Driver is to deliver and pick up product and/or equipment to and from company sites and suppliers. The Delivery driver's responsibilities involve Loading & unloading, delivery and pick-up, reporting, operations, service, safety and maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management. The truck driver will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team work within the company and a favourable image of the company. Delivery and pickup involves making deliveries and pick-ups in the most efficient, economical manner possible. Safety and maintenance involves delivering safely, following regulations, and safely operating and maintaining the delivery vehicle.

Key Requirements :

- Experience working within a warehouse environment
n
- Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor repairs
n
- Knowledge of state transport regulations.
n
- Competent driving skills
n
- Skill to maneuver large vehicles on highways and traffic routes
n
- Knowledge of vehicle and all its parts
n
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
n
- Good written and verbal communication skills
n
- Planning and organising
n
- To enjoy practical and manual activities
n
- The ability to work as part of a team
n
- To be able to follow written instructions
n

Job Responsibility :

n

n




- Ensure that all Policies and plans are adhered to at all times
n
- Load and Unload Trucks in efficient and safe manner
n
- Deliver product to and pick up product from specified locations
n
- Ensure delivery dockets are made out prior to loading or delivery
n
- Develop and maintain an organized and efficient loading and unloading system
n
- Unload according to customers requests
n
- Verify all items loaded and delivered
n
- Communicate secure storage and handling procedures to delivery points
n
- Submit trip report to supervisor daily
n
- Fill out trip report completely and accurately
n
- Check lights and safety equipment daily
n
- Obey all traffic laws, including: driving within posted speed limits, stopping and looking for traffic at all stop signs, Drive defensively
n
- Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisor
n
- Allow no riders who have not been approved by your supervisor
n
- Follow the regular vehicle maintenance schedule provided by your supervisor
n
- Maintain a log of their activities, condition of the vehicle and any cases of accidents
n
- Any other duties that are requested
n
