The Opportunity

n

We are looking for a passionate lawyer with 1 - 3 years PAE to join our Brisbane based Employment Workplace Relations and Safety team. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to progress your career within a team that is renowned for its collaborative culture, passion for client service and professional development opportunities.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work across a diverse range of workplace matters including:

n

n
- Advising clients on management of ill and injured workers;
n
- Providing critical incident response services to clients;
n
- Defending prosecutions under the safety legislation (nationally);
n
- Advising on and representing clients in a variety of employment related claims, including claims for unfair dismissal, adverse action, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract and underpayment of wages
n
- Dealing with industrial relations issues, Right of Entry disputes
n
- Advising on WHS and managing with incidents
n
- Undertaking workplace investigations for clients; and
n
- Delivering training to clients on Employment and safety related topics.

Skills and Experience

n





To be successful in this role you will have:

n

n
- A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and a current Queensland practising certificate
n
- Minimum 1 years' post admission ideally with exposure to Work Health and Safety matters, and/or Employment, Workers' Compensation, or general litigation
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling a practical and commercial approach to be taken
n
- Confidence to deal with clients and work collaboratively with other practice groups
n
- High degree of initiative, dedication and organisational ability with a solid client and commercial focus
n
- Ability to manage a busy workload and work to tight deadlines
n
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
n
