About Baby Sensory:

We provide award-winning baby development classes. As a class facilitator, you’ll lead a class of up to 18 parents and their babies guiding them through engaging sensory activities while providing developmental insights and information. Classes last 45 minutes with up to 9 sensory activities delivered. These activities contribute to the growth and development of babies over our 10-week terms. All babies are under 13 months and are accompanied with a parent/carer. Take a look at our Intsa page to see what it looks like in class @babysensorynorthernbeaches

Job is on the Northern Beaches in Dee Why and Brookvale. No formal experience required, all provided during mentoring and training.

Permanent Part time accommodating kindy/school schedules. Contracted for 40 weeks per year, aligning with NSW school terms

Classes change every week so there’s never a dull moment - but you will have a lot to learn!

Working days are 4.5 to 5.5 hours long depending on things like set up, pack down and moving the kit to another venue

What’s needed?

Confidence: You will be singing, moving and engaging up to 18 Mums and their babies.

Organisation: You will need to take some time during the week to learn a new lesson plan.

Enthusiasm: Can you keep 18 Mums engaged in the full 45 minute class and deliver the developmental information while making the activities fun and exciting?

Energy: This is not a sitting down job! A class leader needs to be full of energy as we are busy preparing, chatting,

cleaning and leading the group while always being aware of health and safety.

Responsibilities of a Baby Sensory Class Leader:

- Pick up and drop off of class equipment to Dee Why - if local and if this is what we agree (paid)
- Prepare and practice activities at home for each week’s class (paid)
- Set up equipment at venues before families arrive, clean and create the space.
- Lead 3 full 45-minute classes per day following the prepared and learnt lesson plan. Chat to the customers, make everyone feel welcome and comfortable.
- Clean and sanitise equipment between classes.
- Pack up equipment and return it to Dee Why at the end of the week (if this is what we agree, this is not necessary, especially if your car is not big enough).

Qualities of an Ideal Class Leader:

- Warm, friendly, gentle and nurturing. Capable of connecting with multiple people and creating a safe, happy space.
- Trustworthy and reliable, with attention to detail
- Self-motivated, positive, outgoing enough to lead a class and guide the customers through their Baby Sensory journey
- Gentle and understanding of first time Mums and their challenges
- Training salary: $30 per hour (excluding Super)
- Post-training salary: $32 per hour (excluding Super)
- Valid driver’s license, WWCC, First Aid and CPR certificate required (can be obtained while training)

Working Schedule once fully trained:

- Tuesday & Wednesday Dee Why, Friday Brookvale
- Compulsory online training: 15th, 16th September.
- Break for school holidays: w/c 28th September & 5th October.
- Start back for a full 10 week term: w/c 12th October to w/c 14th December
