Hervey Bay Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and playful Early Childhood Educator to join our team on a part-time basis . Based in beautiful Hervey Bay, QLD, you will work in a supportive, nurturing environment that prioritises play-based learning and holistic child development. This role is essential to our mission of providing high-quality early childhood education and care that supports each child's individual growth, wellbeing, and love of learning.

Key responsibilities

- Planning and implementing age-appropriate, play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, emotional and creative development
- Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that meets all health, safety and regulatory standards
- Building positive relationships with children and families, fostering a sense of belonging and security within the kindergarten setting
- Observing and documenting children's learning and development progress, and communicating this information effectively with families and colleagues
- Supporting children's transitions, self-care routines and behavioural guidance with patience, consistency and positive reinforcement
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure seamless service delivery and to support children with diverse learning needs
- Maintaining detailed records and contributing to the continuous improvement of kindergarten practices and policies
- Upholding duty of care responsibilities and promoting a culture of child safety and wellbeing at all times

What we're looking for

- A nationally recognised qualification in early childhood education and care, such as a Cert III or Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification appropriate for early childhood settings




- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and ability to implement play-based learning approaches
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children and families from diverse backgrounds
- Patience, creativity and enthusiasm for supporting young children's learning and development
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding professional standards in all interactions
- Forest School Leader qualification and applicants familiar with a Playwork approach would be highly valued.
- Flexibility and reliability in meeting the part-time work schedule, must be available to work any shift between 6am and 6pm.
