Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is a proud Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) committed to healing, supporting, serving and protecting Aboriginal communities across the Mallee region. Role Overview
Working closely with Elders, community members and young people, the Youth Hub Program Facilitator will create and deliver engaging activities that help young people build confidence, strengthen cultural identity and develop positive connections within the community.
The flexibility to work from 1pm to 8pm, 3 days per week, if required, is critical to the success of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and run youth engagement activities,
workshops, and social programs at the hub including excursions, sporting/recreational programs and on-country experiences.
Offer safe guidance, mentoring, and positive social connection for young people.
Encourage cultural learning, storytelling, and community pride including traditional skills and art therapy.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Communication and trust building skills to engage with teenagers and young adults presenting with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
Ability to manage group spaces, plan events, and handle crisis support with patience and empathy.
Knowledge of Aboriginal culture, history, and community needs.
Other Requirements
Current National Police Check.
Current Employee Working with Children Check
Current Driver's Licence
