About the role
North Burnett Regional Council is offering an exciting Civil Works Traineeship within our Civil Works team in Monto.
If you are looking for an entry-level opportunity, are keen to learn new skills, enjoy working as part of a team, and have a strong interest in contributing to your local community, a Local Government traineeship could be the opportunity for you.
As a trainee, you will work towards a nationally recognised Certificate-level qualification while gaining valuable practical skills, industry knowledge and hands‑on experience in a supportive workplace environment.
This traineeship will provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills and experience required to work effectively as part of a skilled civil works team and contribute to a diverse range of civil infrastructure projects, including:
- Assisting with the construction and maintenance of roads and associated infrastructure,
including traffic control, kerb and gutter, footpaths and concrete drainage.
- Developing skills in the safe operation, use and basic maintenance of a range of commercial plant, equipment and tools relevant to the work area.
- Assisting with accurate record keeping, inspections and reporting of asset defects.
- Maintaining work sites, depots, plant and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
To be eligible you must be:
- aged 15 years or older and no longer at school
- able to meet citizen, residency and visa requirements to undertake a traineeship.
- We welcome applications from school leavers through to mature-age job seekers (adult trainee/ apprentice wages may be applicable)
