Internal Retail Sales - Building, Hardware Supplies

Jeays Hardware Pty Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Internal Retail Sales professional to join our team in the Northern Suburbs of Brisbane, QLD. This is a full time position based in-store, where you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers whilst driving sales of building and hardware supplies. As an Internal Retail Sales specialist, you will be the backbone of our retail operations, helping customers find the right products and solutions for their projects. This role is crucial to maintaining our reputation for outstanding customer service and achieving our sales targets.

Key responsibilities

- Provide expert product knowledge and assistance to customers shopping for building and hardware supplies
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems
- Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products to enhance their purchasing experience
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked retail environment
- Assist with merchandise displays and stock rotation to ensure products are attractively presented
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues professionally and courteously
- Support the team in achieving daily and weekly sales targets
- Perform stock checks and report on inventory levels to management
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support colleagues when needed

What we're looking for

- Proven retail experience in a hardware, building supplies or similar customer-facing retail environment




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with diverse customers
- Excellent numeracy skills and proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic IT
- A genuine enthusiasm for helping customers and providing outstanding service
- Physical capability to lift and handle building materials and stock items safely
- Reliability and a strong work ethic with the ability to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of building materials, tools and hardware products is highly desirable
- Flexibility to work retail hours, including weekends when required
