We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our busy private specialist practice.
This is a part-time position working Monday, Wednesday and Thursday , with the opportunity to work additional days when required to cover annual leave and sick leave.

About the Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and professional experience from the moment patients arrive.
This is a varied and autonomous role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for the smooth running of reception and supporting the doctors and wider team with day-to-day administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming patients and providing friendly, professional customer service
- Managing incoming phone calls and patient enquiries
- Booking and managing patient appointments
- Coordinating theatre bookings
- Registering new patients
- Processing Medicare and private billing
- Invoicing and receipting patient payments
- Maintaining accurate patient records and files
- Maintaining consulting rooms and ensuring they are prepared for clinics
- Liaising with patients,
doctors, hospitals and other healthcare professionals
- General medical administration and reception duties
About You
We are looking for someone who is qualified, reliable, organised and genuinely enjoys working with people .
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- 1–2 years' minimum experience in a medical reception role
- Experience working in a busy private medical or specialist practice
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- A calm, friendly and compassionate manner when dealing with patients
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities
- A positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team
Experience with Genie/Gentu is highly desirable.
Previous experience with Medicare and health fund billing is preferred, but not essential for the right candidate.
