Start or Continue Your Cabinetmaking Career – 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Cabinetmaker | Gosford | Full-time | Start ASAP
The Chance
Like working with your hands, using tools and seeing a finished product come together?
CCGT is looking for a 1st, 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Cabinetmaker to join a family‑owned commercial cabinetmaking business based on the Central Coast.
This business has been operating for more than 21 years and works across commercial cabinetmaking, joinery, installations and deliveries. You’ll learn in a fast‑paced but relaxed team environment where quality work, reliability and teamwork matter.
No previous cabinetmaking experience is needed if you are applying as a 1st Year Apprentice. If you are already part‑way through your apprenticeship, this is a chance to keep building your skills in a practical workshop and site‑based role.
You will be employed by Central Coast Group Training (CCGT) and placed with the Host Employer for your day‑to‑day work. CCGT will support you throughout your apprenticeship while you complete, or continue, a nationally recognised Certificate III in Cabinet Making and Timber Technology.
This is a full‑time role, generally working 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday, and 6:00am to 12:00pm on Fridays.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Your first few months will focus on learning workplace safety, getting familiar with tools, materials and workshop routines, and helping experienced tradespeople with daily jobs.
As your skills grow, you’ll start learning how to:
- Assist with joinery and cabinetmaking tasks
- Use hand tools,
power tools and workshop equipment safely
- Operate CNC machinery and edge banding equipment under supervision
- Help with commercial cabinetmaking projects
- Assist with installations and deliveries
- Measure, cut, assemble and finish cabinetry components
- Keep the factory, tools and work areas clean and organised
- Follow instructions, job requirements and workplace safety procedures
You will not be expected to know everything on day one. The goal is to listen, ask questions and keep improving.
Why This Is a Good Place to Start
- Experience in both factory‑based work and installations
- Exposure to commercial joinery and cabinetmaking projects
- Hands‑on training with CNC machinery and edge banding equipment
- A family‑owned business environment
- A team that values reliability, effort and a positive attitude
- Early starts with a shorter Friday
- Supportive supervision and regular CCGT check‑ins
You’ll also receive paid full‑time employment, on‑the‑job training and support from CCGT throughout your apprenticeship.
After your apprenticeship, career pathways may include Qualified Cabinetmaker, Joiner, CNC Operator, Installer, Workshop Tradesperson or Commercial Joinery Tradesperson.
