Mine Accountant (Fixed Term)

Clermont Open Cut is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to support our site based Commercial team on a 12-month fixed term contract. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will have the opportunity to provide a high level of technical finance support throughout multiple levels of the business.

In this role you will be responsible for:

n

n
- Financial Management reporting, coordinating, and processing month end activities in a timely and accurate manner
n
- Completion of cash management and banking functions
n
- Preparation of annual statutory financials
n
- FBT and BAS preparation as well as supporting all departments in compiling their annual capital and operating budgets
n
- Making commercial recommendations based on your technical expertise and have a proven ability to influence high level decisions
n
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and adding value through partnering will all departments
n

Requirements of the role include:

n

n
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Finance
n
- You will hold, or be studying towards, obtaining your CA/CPA qualification
n
- Experience in SAP, XERAS and Power BI will be highly regarde
n
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
n

This permanent full-time role requires a detail-oriented candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practice using a hands-on approach.
