Network Services Engineer - Large Consulting Company onsite with Bank

Location: Sydney, NSW | Travel to sites and Data Centres required
Contract: Until 31 December 2026 with possible extensions
Rate: $770 p/d inc super

Primary Purpose

A large bank is seeking an experienced Network Services Engineer to support the delivery, implementation and ongoing operation of its enterprise network infrastructure.

This is a hands‑on technical role responsible for configuring, deploying and supporting network technologies across corporate sites and Data Centre environments. The successful candidate will work closely with internal technical teams, stakeholders and vendors to deliver secure, reliable and high‑performing network services.

Key Accountabilities

- Configure, deploy, maintain and support enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls and wireless technologies.
- Perform network implementation, migration and upgrade activities across corporate and Data Centre environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity, performance and security issues.
- Support routing and switching environments, including VLANs, VPNs and TCP/IP networking.
- Configure and support firewall and network security technologies.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of network changes, upgrades and project activities.
- Perform onsite implementation and support activities at customer sites and Data Centres as required.
- Maintain accurate network diagrams,



configuration records, technical documentation and operating procedures.
- Ensure network solutions are implemented in accordance with technical, security and operational standards.
- Collaborate with internal infrastructure and security teams, customers and external vendors.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery and operational activities.
- Participate in testing, implementation and transition of network solutions into production environments.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 5 years' experience in Network Engineering or a similar enterprise networking role.
- Strong hands‑on experience configuring and supporting switches, routers, firewalls and wireless infrastructure .
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing and switching, VLANs, VPNs and network security principles .
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity and performance issues.
- Experience delivering network migrations, upgrades and implementation activities.
- Experience working within enterprise and/or Data Centre network environments.
- Robust technical documentation skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, stakeholders and vendors.
- Willingness and ability to travel to sites and Data Centres across Sydney as required.
