We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a major mining operation in Papua Recent Guinea on a 21/14 FIFO roster from any Australian capital city.

This is a key leadership appointment with a clear mandate - build and lead a proactive, planned and reliability-focused maintenance function capable of supporting current operations, increasing mining activity and future operational requirements.

We’re looking for a maintenance leader, not simply a senior tradesperson. You’ll bring strong heavy mobile equipment knowledge, but your real value will be your ability to build the systems, people, planning and reliability capability that drive fleet performance.

The Role

Reporting into site leadership, you will take ownership of the maintenance function with a focus on:

- Driving maintenance planning, scheduling, PM compliance and backlog management
- Improving mobile fleet availability, reliability and component life
- Reducing repeat failures and unplanned downtime through RCA and condition monitoring
- Planning and executing shutdowns, rebuilds and major maintenance activities




- Building operational readiness across people, systems, workshops, tooling, spares and fleet
- Developing Supervisors and national team members while establishing clear standards and accountability
- Working closely with Mining Operations to align maintenance priorities with the production plan
- Managing maintenance budgets, contractors, parts and lifecycle costs
- Leading the transition from reactive maintenance toward a structured, reliability-driven culture

About You

You will be an experienced mining maintenance leader with a track record of managing large heavy mobile equipment fleets in demanding operating environments.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Significant maintenance leadership experience within mining
- Strong mobile mining fleet and heavy equipment knowledge
- Demonstrated planning, scheduling and reliability capability
- Experience improving fleet availability and maintenance performance
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Commercial understanding across budgets, contractors, rebuilds and lifecycle costs
- Experience in remote, international or developing-country operations will be highly regarded
- A practical, hands-on leadership style combined with the ability to drive long-term improvement
